Overview
This page lets you request the permanent deletion of your Knitify account and all data associated with it. You do not need to install the App, sign in, or create any account to submit a request. This page satisfies Google Play's account-deletion policy (publicly accessible URL) and Apple's App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v).
Two ways to delete your account
Option 1 — In-app (fastest)
- Open Knitify on your iOS or Android device.
- Sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Profile → Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account, all project metadata, all images, and your profile photo are permanently deleted from our servers.
Option 2 — Direct email
Send an email from the address registered to your account to support@knitify-app.com with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include:
- the email address registered to the account,
- which sign-in method you used (Apple, Google, or email/password).
What we delete
- Account credentials — your Firebase Authentication record (email, sign-in identifiers).
- Profile data — display name and any profile photo.
- Projects — all knitting-project metadata stored in Firestore.
- Images — all source photos and generated pattern images stored in Firebase Storage.
- Crash-report identifier — your account user ID is cleared from Firebase Crashlytics so future crash records are no longer linked to you.
- Subscription identifier — your RevenueCat customer record is anonymized.
What we cannot delete (and why)
- Your active subscription on the Apple App Store or Google Play. We have no ability to cancel a subscription on your behalf — you must cancel it in your platform account settings (iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions). Deleting your account does not stop billing.
- Aggregated, pseudonymized analytics that can no longer be attributed to you.
- Records we are legally required to retain, for example transaction records required by Polish or EU tax law (typically up to 5 to 7 years). These are kept in restricted form, used only to comply with the legal obligation, and deleted at the end of the statutory retention period.
How long it takes
We process verified deletion requests within 30 days of confirmation (and within statutory deadlines where shorter, including the one-month deadline under GDPR/UK GDPR Art. 12(3)). Deletion of files in Firebase Storage propagates to all backups within an additional 30 days as part of normal Google Cloud retention.
Identity verification
To prevent unauthorized account deletion, we verify identity by sending a confirmation email to the address registered to your account. If the request does not originate from a registered account, we may require additional matching information. For a request submitted by an authorized agent under the CCPA/CPRA, please provide signed written authorization from the account holder.
Your other privacy rights
Account deletion is one of several rights you have. For the full list (access, correction, data portability, restriction, objection, opt-out of sale/sharing, etc.) and how to exercise them, see our Privacy Policy.
